Accessibility Statement

Taciturn Studios LLC is committed to ensuring that CoverCrush (covercrushing.com) is accessible to all users, including those with disabilities. We strive to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).

1. Our Commitment

We actively work to make CoverCrush usable by people with a wide range of abilities, including those who use assistive technologies such as screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, voice control software, and display magnification tools. Our accessibility efforts include:

• Providing sufficient color contrast between text and background elements (minimum 4.5:1 ratio for normal text, 3:1 for large text).
• Ensuring all interactive elements are reachable and operable via keyboard navigation.
• Using semantic HTML5 elements and ARIA landmarks to support screen reader navigation.
• Providing descriptive alternative text for all meaningful images.
• Designing focus indicators that are clearly visible for keyboard users.
• Avoiding content that flashes more than three times per second to reduce seizure risk.
• Ensuring form fields have associated labels and descriptive error messages.
• Supporting browser-level text resizing up to 200% without loss of content or functionality.

2. Standards and Guidelines

Our target standard is WCAG 2.1 Level AA. We reference the following guidelines in our development and design process:

• Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 — W3C Recommendation
• Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act — U.S. federal accessibility standards
• Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) — Title III requirements for places of public accommodation

3. Known Limitations

While we strive for full WCAG 2.1 AA conformance, some areas of the site are still being improved. Known limitations include:

• Cover image voting interface: The swipe-to-vote interaction is primarily gesture-based. Keyboard-accessible voting buttons are provided as an alternative, but the swipe animation may not be fully equivalent for all assistive technologies.
• Third-party embeds: Some third-party content (e.g., Stripe payment forms, Google OAuth) is served by external providers and may not fully conform to our accessibility standards. We encourage those providers to meet WCAG 2.1 AA.
• PDF reports: Downloadable cover test reports are generated dynamically and may not be fully tagged for screen reader navigation. We are working to improve PDF accessibility.

We are actively working to resolve these limitations and will update this statement as improvements are made.

If you encounter a barrier on CoverCrush that prevents you from accessing content or completing a task, or if you need information in an alternative format, please contact us. We will make reasonable efforts to provide an accessible alternative within 5 business days.

6. Feedback and Continuous Improvement

We welcome feedback on the accessibility of CoverCrush. If you find an accessibility issue that is not listed in Section 3, or if you have suggestions for improvement, please contact us. We review all accessibility feedback and incorporate it into our ongoing improvement roadmap. This statement is reviewed and updated at least annually, or whenever significant changes are made to the site.

7. Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT)

Enterprise and government buyers often require a VPAT before procuring software. Our VPAT documents CoverCrush's conformance against WCAG 2.1 Level A and AA and the Revised Section 508 standards, including functional performance criteria.

This VPAT was prepared by Taciturn Studios LLC internal staff. It has not been independently audited by a third party. We update the VPAT annually or when significant accessibility changes are made to the product.
